Aldridge Electric understands that investing in professional development is critical to employee growth. In order to fulfill that objective, we have developed programs designed to deliver comprehensive training to all levels of employees. Aldridge’s commitment to working together as a team and to continuously grow personally and professionally is one of the corner stones of our Mission Statement. 

Personal development is fostered by the Aldridge Leadership Development program. The program consists of a number of hands on workshops strictly designed to enhance people’s leadership skills. Over 80 managers and support personnel have attended. Specific process training for project managers is provide to enable them to efficiently perform their tasks, covering such topics as project administrative responsibilities, implementing job controls, and problem solving. Seminars by outside professional are provided on a variety of topics related to the construction industry. 

Knowing that the field supervisor plays a key role in the construction process, Aldridge provides training to strengthen abilities at all levels.  For example, classes in “Electrical Project Supervision” are presented regularly.  These workshops have been developed in conjunction with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and cover such topics as the transition into management, scheduling, team building, communication, leading and motivating.   Field craft personnel are provided safety training and equipment training on a yearly basis, as well on specific skills as necessary to perform their jobs.(Click here to view Aldridge's Safety Agenda)

All this is administered by full time training director Mike Calihan. A twenty year veteran of Aldridge, Mike started as a field laborer and worked his way through the ranks; Journeyman, Superintendent, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Division Manager. Mike’s experiences make him uniquely
qualified to help others achieve their fullest potential here at Aldridge.

His charter is to provide program development and content delivery, making sure to present relevant course material that fulfill the strategic objective of Aldridge Electric.
