Career Development

Education and professional development begins the moment you join the Aldridge Electric family. Starting with our on-boarding activities, we team you up with an experienced sponsor and help you learn the who, how and what you need to be successful at Aldridge Electric.

After your first six months and twice a year after that, Aldridge assures that you and your manager create a personalized professional development plan that includes experiences and education designed to reach your professional goals.

Aldridge Electric understands the impact of professional development on employee growth, and we will offer you comprehensive training in a wide number of venues including classroom training, field experience, online courses and individualized consultation. You will find that Aldridge’s commitment to teamwork and personal and professional growth is a cornerstone of our culture.

Leadership Development
Our innovative Leadership Development program grows the skills you will need to advance at Aldridge Electric. Our hands on workshops and individualized coaching provide a firm foundation to enable you to manage and lead others at Aldridge Electric.

Skills Development
We encourage you to develop your talents and grow your skills whether you are a project manager, accountant, administrator, purchaser or fleet specialist. Specific process training for project managers is provided enabling them to efficiently perform their tasks. Seminars often presented by outside professionals cover such topics as project administrative responsibilities, implementing job controls, problem solving and a variety of topics related to the construction industry.

Knowing that all of our field personnel play a key role in the construction process and success of our projects, Aldridge provides training to strengthen abilities at all levels. Workshops have been developed in conjunction with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and cover such topics as the transition into management, scheduling, team building, communication, leading and motivating and field and safety training.

Personnel are provided safety training and equipment training on a yearly basis, as well on specific skills necessary to perform their jobs.

All this is administered by full time training director Mike Calihan. A twenty five veteran of Aldridge, Mike started as a field laborer and worked his way through the ranks; Journeyman, Superintendent, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Division Manager. Mike’s experiences make him uniquely qualified to help others achieve their fullest potential here at Aldridge.

His charter is to develop and provide relevant programs and course material that fulfills the strategic objectives of Aldridge Electric.
